His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Matthew 25:21
The instability, the low self-esteem, the lies, the disorder, the lack of trust and all those hurtful thoughts & emotions that we usually don’t want inside of our minds, all of these I carried them within me once.
I thought of myself as a lost cause. Since I’ve lived in a chaos my whole life why would I expect to be a peaceful person?
When I decided to enter in a relationship with the Father, I realized of all these blockages in my life.
I needed to make an exchange.
What I’m sharing right now is nothing new; however, something else it’s been present since I started this journey. The struggle with identity it’s been a huge & horrible wall.
Sadly, what we see as religion nowadays is just merely places where the ‘sweet love of Jesus’ is shared on a smile that fades away after the Sunday service. But there’s nothing neither consistent nor substantial; there are very few places where you are exhorted, edified, confronted and empowered, and most importantly, a place where you are loved & celebrated for who you are.
Finally, I’ve found myself in the place that I’ve been aching for my entire life. After coming to Christianity, it wasn’t the hundreds of people that I brought to the Lord as an evangelist that confirmed me as a son, or being seen as a ‘powerful minister / worshiper’.
Instead, it looks more like this… sitting to eat at the table and spend a few minutes having a nice conversation with the people around me, the people that God has set there for me.
I’ve come to realized that to our Father, the quantity is nothing more than numbers, but when it comes to the hearts that are willing to follow him – that changes everything.
[A must-read story! Genesis 18:20-32]
Expanded vision where the Lord longs to take every single one of us (Isaiah 55:8-11) is the greatest invitation of all times! It turns to be like using super goggles with HD integrated.
We start to see the abundance of grace, love and mercy that the creator has for us.
It took me a while, maybe because I was so stubborn; to see the way the Father speaks and romances us all. On chapter five of the book ‘Fathered by God’ by John Eldredge, he talks about the warrior stage and how it is so important for us to know that we’re meant to be warriors and to fight for our lives.
He also writes in his book:
“Don’t give a sword to a soldier that doesn’t know how to dance.”
Highlighting in a very remarkable way the fact that we are also meant to enjoy little things in life! In my case, oftentimes I felt that I came out of the womb with a shotgun and a helmet on; very few times I have in my memory where I’m not fighting to survive.
These days are teaching me that sometimes the Lord sends us little pebbles, or even tiny, really tiny bitty seeds with the shape of a heart to remind us how much he loves us.
Also, that when we are willing to go for more, to press into the more of who he is, he will surprise you with the love language you speak!
He might take you get ice cream. (Quality/intentional time is my love language)
However, these details entail a greater purpose of redemption and are also to speak to you of how much he loves you and we have to do nothing to earn it.
When you come out of your room in the morning and the warmth of that amazing sun embraces you, the Father says: ‘This is how my love feels! It wraps you and gives the warmth that your body needs!
In my last post I mentioned that after living for a while with such a detailed oriented person (doing life with the Father in this case), you get their manners.
Because we’re also created to his image and likeness, through these little details he is feeding us to stand up strong, to be stable, to have a worth & and be more like him.
We find an order in him and little by little He is gaining our heart so we can trust him.
And when we get there, we start to grasp that every single detail counts; as we go in life a smile can change the whole environment of an entire room.
The way we interact with the people around us will tell the greatness of the One that resides in us. This is not a speech about being positive is an invitation to choose life!
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
Philippians 4:8
Everything starts here, giving our highest place to him – our minds.
Let’s allow the Father to love on us; let’s allow ourselves be romanced by him.
What is the one thing that brings you joy?
It might be there already; He is just waiting for you to open your hands and heart to receive it!
But also know that when He wants to show you more, he will SHOW YOU MORE. Remain faithful and enjoy the little things.
“For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.”
– Romans 8:19 –
