“Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?”
[James 2:5]
I’ve always believed that labels in society are wrong; labeling people makes us look foolish and ignorant of the true value of a person. I made use of it and I had to endure it myself too. And believe me; it’s neither beneficial nor funny.
When we learn to see through the eyes of the Spirit something incredible happens: we see each aspect of life, each person in such a respectful & higher way.
[Isaiah 55:8-11 / Romans 12:3]
As we grow not in a religion but a relationship with the Father we come to realize of how much damage deception has done in us. This deception has gained territory inside of our minds and hearts, and
IT IS TIME TO STOP IT!
I’ve realized of how scared we are of pursuing God’s calling for our lives. Why?
Because we are not ‘good enough’, because we are not in ‘tune’, because we are not ‘ready yet’, because we are not the ‘chosen ones’.
Well, the first two are probably right, but the last one? What? Who told us that?
“For many are called, but few are chosen.”
Matthew 22:1-14 [Get your bible!]
In this specific parable, all you can see is a great invitation to be part of this amazing celebration; to be ‘in’, we all had an encounter that brought us here, to this day.
But, as in every celebration we are meant to be dressed properly for the occasion [Verse 12]; well that’s what it means to be chosen. In order to be with the Father, we need to come with a posture of humility in our hearts—which is the best ‘clothing’ we can wear.
For us to be in that place, we must want it, we must long for it, we must desire to be part of the whole celebration. No one goes on a family trip to the beach in a suit, right?
And believe me, once you are part of what the Father is doing it is hard to say no to something as great as this. Now, how many times have you heard people exalting people? People exalting someone’s ‘anointing’, making you feel like some kind of bug that will never transform into something significant.
Unfortunately, there’s so much of this useless ‘propaganda’ around us about how to ‘access’ what the Lord has for us, or how to ‘carry’ the presence, but this ultimately will distract us from our primary goal, which is to BE with him. Maybe the first thought that strikes our mind is comparison, but that’s merely distraction, fear, or some kind of anger against the Lord because we might think He is playing a prank on us. And that’s not true either!
Labels bring people pride, prejudice, fear, comparison. All they do is frame the freedom that we are meant to have. This world might be a harsh place, but that’s not of our concern, not when we belong to a heavenly kingdom!
“Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world…”
John 18:36
How do I become a chosen one?
I heard this story a while ago and I’m so thankful for the great insight that this story brought to my seeking for truth.
“A long time ago in ancient Greece, there was a school with one of the most incredible and amazing philosophy teachers of all time. His classes were always packed with students taking every empty space available in the classroom, just to hear the wisdom of this man.
One time one of the students came to him asking: “Master will you allow me learn from you, to receive all of your knowledge?”
The master replied: “Well, are you sure?”
Student: “Yes, master! I’ll do whatever you ask me.”
Master: “Well, meet me at the shore of the island and I will share with you all the wisdom that I’ve within me.”
The next day our fellow student went straight to the island’s shore to meet with his master, but something surprised him. The master was half immersed in the water and when he saw the student, he greeted him and called him to come into the water with him. Standing now next to him the master asked the student:
“So, are you ready?”
Student: “Yes, master I am!”
Master: “Do you trust me?”
Student: “Yes master, I do”
In that very moment the master put his hands on the student’s shoulders and dunked the student abruptly into the water. The poor student freaked out and started to try to escape from this crazy situation!
As he could he came out and yelling out to his master: “I need to breathe! Are you crazy…!” he couldn’t even finish this sentence when the master dunked him again.
This happened for three times! On the fourth time he finally releases himself from his master and was about to complain about the awful experience when the master started to speak:
“Just as you were desperate for coming out of the water in need air; in the very same way I want you to be desperate for knowledge…”
We’re not meant to settle for something less! There’s freedom in his presence.
“A world that is increasingly confused, uncertain, and paralyzed is calling out for men of action. We need to stop thinking and start acting. Stop looking at the big red button and push it. Stop planning and take a step forward. Stop talking about grit and take a hit.”

Action #1: TO BE WITH THE FATHER.
“For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.”
